An Afternoon at the Museum

Yesterday, our homeschool group went to the West Georgia Museum of Tallapoosa. It was really cool. Here are some arrowheads that were all found in the Haralson County area.

Here is a sword and some other things all found from the Battle of Atlanta.

I really liked this display of a farmer plowing his field with a mule. My Dad would like to see this one.

Check out this Indian's quiver and arrows!

Here is the whole Indian display. He is sitting on a real stuffed horse!

Here's a group shot of everyone, including the huge 30-ft T-Rex at the museum.

In Memory

Today Jan. 27 would have been Maw Maw's birthday. She was my great-grandmother, and her name was Lee Emma. She lived next to us. She loved to play baseball, hide and seek, and take walks, but she could not ride a bicycle. Once when my brother Seth was born, we all went to the park while Mom was in the hospital, and MAW MAW SLID DOWN THE SLIDE! Also, for Christmas one year, our family took MawMaw to see the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She loved it. These are memories I will treasure forever. MawMaw passed away in 2006, but I will always miss her.

This is a picture of my brothers and sister, along with our cousin Ty, with MawMaw

A Person is a Person No Matter How Small

Mom surprised me on Monday of last week by telling me that I had been asked to give a speech at the Sanctity of Life March that we take part in each year. I was nervous, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to tell the truth about abortion. Here's a video clip.

I have been attending these memorials since I was 4 1/2 years old. Maybe something that was said this year will turn someone's heart toward the unborn.

Inspector Gadget

Well, as you can tell by my blog title, this little girl is an inspector of gadgets. Here she is with my iPod:

And here she is trying to escape with the Wii remotes!

But even with all the mean stuff she does, I still love this sweet baby!

Fun Traditions

These past few weeks have been filled with lots of our fun family traditions. It all starts every Thanksgiving. We eat sausage balls for breakfast and make gingerbread houses. Then, we go to Gran's house for lunch and Nanna's for supper. Here are our houses (mine is the one on the right in back).

Next, Mom pulls out the Christmas movies. We usually like to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" first. This year, Rosebud watched Frosty the Snowman about a hundred times. That's one tradition I'm not too crazy about.

We've been memorizing portions of Scripture about the birth of Christ for several years. Each year, we add some to what we've already learned. This year, the boys joined in. Together, we quoted Isaiah 9:6, Luke 1:26-42; 2:1-20, and John 3:16, 17. I know this is something that I will always treasure.

My brothers, sisters, and I receive 3 Christmas gifts from Mom and Dad, just as the child Jesus received 3 gifts from the wise men. My favorite gift was my iPod Touch (yes!) and next was my Robin Hood quiver and bow. I have 9 arrows to go with it.

Sis and I surprised Mom and Dad with a gift certificate from El Nopal's. (Thanks, Gran, for helping out with that!)

On Christmas morning, Mom cooks a ham and our whole family comes to our house for breakfast. I am so thankful for my family and the great memories we were able to make this year.

Christmas

I have to admit that I'm late on blogging. Sorry!

My favorite time of year is Christmas season. I'd like to share some things we did this year.

At our church Christmas dinner Mom made cookies for all of us kids to decorate. That was so much fun.

My grandmother (Nanna) invited me and KK over to do some Christmas baking. She shared her famous Pumpkin Bread recipe with me. I have already made it again with Mom's help.

We really enjoyed spending time with our family. We always eat at Nana and PawPaw's house, and also at Gran and Poppie's house.

We had a blast playing on our Wii, and I also have loved having my iPod Touch. Mom got us some cool audiobooks that I can't wait to listen to. I'm going to listen to Swiss Family Robinson first.

For New Years, we always have church at our house. Bro Tony preached this year, and then we ate. We had so much fun that I forgot to take pictures!

Hope you had a blessed holiday as well.

Now....it's back to school

Psalm 19:1

I took this picture in our backyard.

"The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament sheweth his handywork"

Following the Lord's Example

Nov. 8 I got saved. Dec.6 I got baptized. I am so glad that the good Lord saved me. Here are some pictures from my baptism. It's good that my dad is a preacher, and that he could baptize me.
